Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 17, 2026
1. Information we collect
None. ShieldX does not collect personally identifiable information. We do not track the pages you visit, the searches you make, or your browsing history, and we have no analytics or telemetry built into the extension.
2. Information stored on your device
To function, ShieldX stores a small amount of configuration locally in your browser's extension storage:
- Whether protection is turned on or off.
- The list of websites you have chosen to allow (pause ShieldX on).
This data never leaves your device, is not readable by us, and is removed when you uninstall the extension.
3. Permissions we request and why
- Access to website data — required to hide ad elements on the pages you visit. Page content is processed in your browser and never sent anywhere.
- Storage — to remember your settings (see section 2).
- Network request rules — to block requests to known ad and tracking servers. These rules are applied by your browser itself.
4. Third-party services
ShieldX does not send your data to any third party. The extension uses publicly available filter lists to decide what to block; these lists are bundled into the extension and are not used to transmit information about you. See our Terms of Service for attribution.
5. Children's privacy
ShieldX does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
6. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we will revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
